Indy Local Joins Fight for $15

In Indianapolis, as in cities across the country today, low wage workers took to the streets to make their case for a living wage. Organized under the banner of “Fight for Fifteen” in Indianapolis, fast food and health care workers demonstrated in front of a corporate-owned McDonald’s at 38th and Post this morning. The Indy local (Gilbert Kuhn and John Strinka are clearly visible in the channel 8 footage) joined in solidarity with the workers. At the culmination of the rally, demonstrators flooded Post Road, blocking traffic. About 10 workers were removed from the roadway by Indianapolis police. This was the largest yet in a series of ongoing demonstrations since last summer bringing attention to the plight of low wage workers in the area.
